At Unbridled Paths, we knew that building a 10-stall barn was a crucial step in achieving our goals. We wanted to generate income for our non-profit before starting to provide our equestrian services, and adding more stalls to our facility was the perfect way to do so. We began by researching local contractors who had experience in building equestrian facilities.
After careful consideration, we decided to use a combination of several sub-contractors and volunteer help to build our barn. We knew that having a team of skilled professionals was important, but we also wanted to involve our community in the process.
One of the first things to consider when building a barn is the size and layout. We worked with our contractor to design a 10-stall barn that was both functional and visually appealing. We wanted to make sure that each stall was large enough to comfortably accommodate our horses, the actual size is 12 feet by 14 feet with a 12 x 24 foot walkout, which gives them enough room for them to move around freely.
Another important factor to consider is the type of materials to use. We opted for a combination of wood and metal, which offered a great balance of durability and aesthetic appeal. It was important to us to choose materials that would stand up to the wear and tear of daily use, while also creating a welcoming and inviting environment for our horses.
In addition to the physical construction of the barn, we also had to consider the necessary amenities. Each stall needed access to fresh water and food, as well as proper ventilation, lighting and a wash rack. We also installed a combination of rubber mats and stall mats to provide a comfortable and safe surface for our horses to stand on.
Throughout the building process, we relied on a combination of sub-contractors and volunteer help to keep costs down and ensure that the project was completed on time. Our volunteers came together to support our vision, and we were able to build a beautiful and functional 10-stall barn that is serving us well.
In conclusion, building a barn with 10 stalls requires careful planning, attention to detail, and a skilled team of professionals. By working with experienced contractors and involving our community in the process, you can create a beautiful and functional space that will benefit both your horses and your organization.
